I've got a short haircut again!
For the longest time, since... the end of high school when I decided to grow my pixie cut out, actually, my hair is shorter than my shoulders. :D See my icon, how high off her neck the hair is? Well, curl that hair down instead of up, but it's that level of poofy and short and I LOVE IT. I have bangs, but I can brush them back and up into the main body of my hair to get some rediculous height that looks all professional and ADULT. My hair just looks so much better! The weight of my hair when long would hold it flat against my head, now I just want to giggle and run my hands through it going POOF HAHAHAHAHAHA POOF I HAVE BODY! BODY DAMMIT BODY!!!!
It's really nice, cause in the past couple years I had just been irritated by it long, pulling it back into tighter and tighter braids and ponytails to just GET IT OUT OF MY DAMN WAY AND MY FACE to where it just looked plastered against my head except for the frizzies which would pop free and multiply past any gelling. And worse, it'd feel at times like I'd have to go to silly lengths just to get the shampoo down to the scalp at the back of my head.
I keep on running my hands through my hair and giggling.
For the first time in over ten years, the back of my neck will be exposed to the sun. Hubby was all, "Is this the right time of year to go to a short haircut?" and then I pointed out that we live in the desert, and the summertime sun on skin unused to it would be... PAIN. So, I'm letting it get used to the winter sun instead, and wearing scarves when it gets too cold.
